Condemning the arrest of two lawyers on charges of eve-teasing, the advocate fraternity on Monday burnt the effigy of a police officer at Srivilliputtur.
Hundreds of advocates gathered at Srivilliputtur-Sivakasi Arterial Road and staged road roko. The lawyers burnt the effigy of the DSP Sakthivel who arrested the two advocates.
Srivilliputhur Advocates Association held a meeting and decided to continue their protest still DSP Sakthivel and SI Vedhasangili were dismissed from service.
The advocates have decided to file a petition against the policemen with the Human Rights Commission.
