New Delhi: Ranbir Kapoor was the hero of Ayan Mukerji's directorial debut 'Wake Up Sid', and now the team is back with 'Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani'. The film is scheduled to be released on May 31, 2013 and stars Deepika Padukone opposite Ranbir Kapoor.
'Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani' is going to be Ranbir Kapoor's first film with Deepika Padukone after their much publicized break-up in 2009.
Ranbir met Deepika on the sets of 'Bachna Ae Hasseno' (2008) and they became close friends but their relationship came to an end in 2009. Later, Deepika started dating Siddharth Mallya but this relationship also met with a bad fate in 2012.
Things between Deepika and Ranbir became sore when Deepika appeared on Karan Johar's TV show 'Koffee With Karan'. She talked about her relationship with Ranbir on the show, however Ranbir refrained from reacting to it.
There were reports of Deepika being uncomfortable in Ranbir's presence in the beginning of the shoot for 'Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani' but later they were spotted sharing some interesting moments.
Apparently, they gelled well during the shoot and now when the first trailer is out all eyes are on their chemistry. Deepika still has a 'RK' tattoo on the nape of her neck.
Ranbir has denied any bitterness with Deepika. He told PTI, "I don't take such talk seriously. We don't come as a package. Deepika and I have moved on as individuals and as actors."
Ranbir further said, "No... not at all. That would be unfair to the film. We are all professionals."
Will they be able to rise above their differences and give heart touching performances? The trailer looks like many other modern day love stories but then Ranbir and Deepika are capable actors, they can always surprise the audience. (With inputs from PTI)
