HYDERABAD: Businessman Gowri Shanker Gupta, his brother Gopal Gupta and their family members approached AP High Court with a request to quash proceedings against them by the police and to stay the investigation in respect to a cheating case against them by real estate firm DLF Universal Ltd.They have filed two separate criminal petitions in the court, which are expected to come up for hearing on Wednesday.The Central Crime Station (CCS) police had registered two cases on March 3 based on a complaint filed by DLF company alleging that the SBPL Infrastructure Ltd, owned by the Guptas, had duped them to a tune of Rs 290 crore. The case is being investigated by the CCS.3 surrenderThree persons surrendered before the 12th additional chief metropolitan court Tuesday in connection with the case of cheating alleged by real-estate developer DLF Universal. The court had granted anticipatory bail to seven accused in the case last week and had directed them to appear in court within ten days.Amit Agarwal, Komal Agarwal and Manjari Gupta completed bail formalities after submitting their passports.Two others -- Radhesham Gupta and Manoj Kumar Sharma -- too surrendered in court but the magistrate could not execute their bail formalities as they had not produced their passports.The court had earlier granted conditional bail to Sarita Gupta, Radhesham Gupta, Manoj Kumar Sharma, Komal Agarwal, Amit Agarwal, Anita Agarwal, Megha Gupta and Manjari Gupta. It dismissed the anticipatory bail plea filed by Hyderabad-based businessman G S Gupta and his brother Gopal Gupta.
