Depressed over girl baby, dad commits suicide

BANGALORE: Upset over the birth of a girl child, a cab driver ended his life by hanging himself at his residence in Gayatri Nagar eighth cross in Subramanya Nagar police station limits. The deceased Lakshmana , 30, though committed suicide on Wednesday, the incident came to light only on Friday.According to the police, Lakshmana was married to Alamelu and had two daughters. A month-and-a-half back she again gave birth to a girl child. This upset Lakshmana, who was expecting a boy.Depressed over this, he ended his life by hanging himself. “Alamelu was with her parents and he was staying alone. His neighbours sensed foul smell from his house and informed the police. When checked the incident came to light,” the police added.
