As per the latest update issued by the India Meteorological Department, rainfall is expected in areas including North Delhi, North-East Delhi, North-West Delhi, West Delhi, and Central Delhi.

Rainfall is also expected in NCR regions such as Loni Dehat, Hindon Air Force Station, Bahadurgarh, Ghaziabad, Indirapuram, and Chhapraula.

As per the weather department, adjoining areas in Haryana, including Sonipat, Rohtak, and Kharkhoda, as well as locations in Uttar Pradesh such as Bagpat, Khekra, Modinagar, and Pilakhua, will also witness similar weather conditions.

Delhi and adjoining areas continue to face severe hot weather conditions, with monsoon expected to hit the region around June 30. On Wednesday, the Capital recorded its highest-ever minimum temperature in June at 35.2 degrees Celsius.

As per the weather department, it was an eight-degree shift above the season’s normal, and the highest minimum recorded in June in the last 55 years.

Amid the heatwave, bodies of 50 people belonging to underprivileged socioeconomic backgrounds were recovered around Delhi during the past 48 hours, police said, as the searing heat wave sweeping the city has caused a spike in casualties and heatstroke cases.

Police and health officials, however, have not confirmed if all of them died of heat-related causes.
