New Delhi: Two days after Jawaharlal Nehru Students' Union president Kanhaiya Kumar was released on interim bail from Tihar jail, Delhi Police has asked JNU authorities to inform them about Kanhaiya's movements, sources said.
According to the sources, the police is tracking Kanhaiya's movement as per court directive.
Delhi Police had issued an 'advisory' to all district, traffic and PCR units asking them to maintain strict vigil, especially in and around JNU and Delhi University campuses, to avoid any clashes over his release.
All district police commissioners were asked to provide security and deploy traffic police personnel wherever Kanhaiya goes and the Commissioners of New Delhi and North Delhi were asked to provide additional security.
Kanhaiya was arrested on February 12 on sedition charges after anti-national slogans were allegedly raised at an event in the JNU campus held in memory of Parliament attack convict Afzal Guru. He was later sent to judicial custody for two weeks.
