Thiruvananthapuram: After attacks on two journalists in Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh which led to their tragic demise, a press photographer was attacked on Wednesday by United Democratic Front supporters during the campaign for the Aruvikkara byelection.
Peethambaran Payyeri, chief photographer of Deccan Chronicle was trying to take a picture when Chief Minister Oommen Chandy, along with Congress candidate Sabarinathan was on a road show.
The photographer tried to take a picture of a huge pothole with the Chief Minister and the candidate in the background which irked some of the supporters and they physically tried to prevent the photographer from taking these pictures.
The UDF had been asking votes for the development activities done by the government.
