An educationist from the Czech Republic, Antony Kolacek, successfully completed the ‘kudi praveshika chikitsa’ at the Padinjarekara Ayurvedic Hospital and Research Centre at Palappuram in Ottapalam on Thursday.
Kolacek spent 50 days, starting June 8, in the first room of the ‘kudi’, which is completely dark, and 10 days in the second room, which allows a small amount of light.
His only diet consisted of milk mixed with ‘rasayanam’. Cows at the centre were fed a special diet, including ‘rasayanam’ and other medicines, to obtain the specific milk needed for Kolacek.
The Czech looked cheerful as he came out of the ‘kudi’ and said that he felt more energetic after the treatment.
“His hair has blackened a bit and his face looks more bright. He has gained five kg and his haemoglobin level has reached 14 from an earlier 12,“ said Dr Sethumadhavan, in-charge of the treatment and the head of the research centre.
Sethumadhavan said that Kolacek was the first foreigner to have successfully completed the treatment. The treatment has helped him to build memory capacity, look younger, help digestion and cure all existing ailments. He added that the real effect of the treatment will be known only after a year.
Fourteen months ago, 91-year-old Mahant Yugal Saranji Maharaj from Mount Abu, Rajasthan had undergone the ‘kudi praveshika chikitsa’ at the hospital. Dr Sethumadhavan said that Saranji Maharaj was very healthy now and is presently in Haridwar.
Kolacek will be given ‘vaatha-athipakam’ (medicines kept under sunlight) for the next eight to 10 months. Kolacek runs a string of educational institutions and coal mines in the Czech Republic. It was a Dr George from Ernakulam, who married a Czech national, who introduced Kolacek to Dr Sethumadhavan.
