KOTTAYAM: Nair Service Society secretary-in-charge G Sukumaran Nair has called for the creation of a human resources portfolio in the state to ensure the effective utilisation of abundant talent and manpower available and avoid the alarming drain of the same in the absence of monitoring and opportunities. The NSS, on its own, would signal the start of 30 HR centres, under the specific department functioning under the organisation, at various areas in the state soon, he said.Inaugurating ‘Spark 2011,’ a faculty meet held at the NSS HQ at Perunna on Saturday, as a prelude to the formation of various HR centres, Sukumaran Nair said that the community members are expected to make full use of the centres and emerge stronger to face the challenges of the times. The NSS HR centres will take up pre-marital counselling, personality development sessions, moral values imparting sessions, teenage awareness initiatives and fight against drugs and substance abuse in a big way.NSS registrar K N Viswanathan Pillai presided over the meet. HR department secretary K R Rajan presented a report and outlined the initiative.
