BANGALORE: There will be a fresh counselling session for the 42 percent seats of the management quota through COMEDK, pertaining to PG medical and dental courses in colleges coming under the Consortium of Medical, Engineering COMEDK.The Karnataka Private Medical and Dental Colleges Association had sought for a direction from the High Court (HC) through filing a petition.They had sought for quashing the seat matrix dated 14 and 15 of April 2011 prepared by the Director of Medical Education, with regard to seats to be filled up in PG courses in the member institutions of the petitioner association.The petitioners have further asked for directing the Consortium of Medical, Engineering to redo the counselling as per the seat matrix prepared by them in consultation with their member institutions.A joint memo was filed by the association, COMEDK and the government in the HC, stating that the seat sharing will be as per the consensual agreement entered between the parties on April 7 and approved by the SC on May 13.As per the agreement 33 percent seats will go to government, 25 percent to be filled up as NRI seats,17 percent for Karnataka students and 25 percent as all India general merit seats.Recording the joint memo, the division bench headed by Justice Manjula Chellur has disposed off the petition.
