KOCHI: Ending speculations over the sharing of boards and corporations, UDF convener P P Thankachan on Friday announced the sharing of 62 boards and corporations among the UDF partners in the first phase. The Congress got the lion’s share of 22 organisations, including KTDC, GCDA and TRIDA, while the IUML was given 17, including SIDCO, Kerala Congress(M) 10 and SJD six and Kerala Congress (Jacob) three. Social groups, including Dheevara Sabha and Viswakarma Sabha, were given four organisations.Thankachan said here that the decision on the remaining corporations would be announced as a single package in the next phase. An agreement has been made to give three organisations each to parties with either one or no MLA. The boards and corporations for JSS, RSP(B), Kerala Congress(B) and CMP with whom there are certain disputes would be announced in the next phase after detailed talks,Thankachan said. The organisations bagged by the Congress are the Kerala Tourism Development Corporation, Khadi and Village Industries Commission, Bamboo Corporation, Greater Cochin Development Authority, Thiruvananthapuram Development Authority, Horti Corp, Cashew Development Corporation, Youth Welfare Board, Guruvayoor Devaswom Board, Sainik Welfare Board, Khadi Workers Welfare Board, KELPAM, Coir Workers Welfare Board, Coir Corporation, Abkari Workers Welfare Fudn Board, Cooperative Pension Board, Cooperative Examination Board, Consumerfed, Balasahitya Institute, Women’s Commission, Christian Converts from Scheduled Caste and the Recommended Communities Ltd and Rehabilitation Plantation. The IUML got the Small Industries Development Corporation, Textile Corporation, Overseas Development and Employment Promotion Council, Handloom Development Corporation, Pravasi Welfare Board, Social Welfare Board, Forest Industries Travancore, Kerala State Industrial Enterprises, Metal industries, Women Development Corporation, Fishermen Welfare Fund Board, Handicraft Development Corporation, Steel and Industrial Forgings Ltd, TEXFED, Handicapped Development Corporation, Kerala Electronics Ltd and CRUCE.Major organisations including the KSFE, Housing Board, Kerala Feeds, Kerala Poultry Development Corporation, Trvancore Cements Ltd, Kerala Land Development Corporation, Meat Products, Lottery Welfare Board, Kerala Shops Welfare Fund Board and Sitaram Mills went to the Kerala Congress(M). The SJD bagged the Plantation Corporation, Oil Palm, Agro Industries Corporation, Livestock Development Corporation and two welfare fund boards. The Kerala Congress(Jacob) was given Oushadhi, Farming Corporation and Spinning Mill in Chathanoor. The Forest Development Board, Artisan Development Corporation, Backward Class Development Corporation and Matsyafed went to the social groups. The SJD has asked for two more boards. There are a total of 82 boards and corporations, which will be shared among the UDF partners.The parties can swap the organisations based on mutual consent, Thankachan said.
