HYDERABAD: When a Congress emissary from Delhi arrives in Hyderabad, the party workers go gaga over it. There would be at least three to four groups vying with one another to impress the visitor with garlands and motorcades. On several occasions, the groups had clashed with one another leading to damage of furniture at airports and injures to the workers. But surprisingly when senior Congress leader and Union minister Vayalar Ravi arrived in Hyderabad on Monday night, there was was no buzz at the airport, or at the Lake View Guest house or at Gandhi Bhavan and no welcome arches for the emissary.Strangely no one seemed upbeat over the arrival of Ravi. One could see a sense of detachment among the handful of leaders who called on him.Industries minister J Geeta Reddy met Ravi on Tuesday morning and then he drove to a hotel to meet MP KVP Ramachandra Rao.Later he had breakfast at another MP Palvai Govardhan Reddy’s residence and went back to Lake View guest house to receive Karimangar MP Ponnam Prabhakar. He later straight away drove to Gandhi Bhavan where there were hardly any party workers. He received the few visitors who were waiting for him to pour out their grievances under the present dispensation.
