VELLORE: Collector Ajay Yadav presided over a review meeting of the work undertaken by the District Rural Development Agency (DRDA) on Wednesday. He advised officials to instruct the village panchayats to levy tax on the digital banners kept in villages and near the highway. The villages should also approve new house constructions based on the house plans as per government norms, he added.He advised officials to ensure that the flow of drinking water to villages should not be disrupted, especially during the sizzling summer months. He wanted the officials to complete the ongoing work under the MLA Development Fund, as per the schedule. He said officials must periodically inspect the noon meal centres in the villages. Property tax from all private educational institutions must be collected by the month end, he added.
