Leader of the opposition in the Assembly N Chandrababu Naidu has accused chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy of shielding ‘tainted and corrupt' ministers.
Addressing a press conference at his party's head office here on Tuesday, the Telugu Desam president alleged that the chief minister was protecting the ministers who were facing corruption charges and six ministers who had received notices from the Supreme Court for issuing 26 controversial GOs to benefit YS Jaganmohan Reddy's companies or those who invested in them.
“He is protecting them to save his chair. Law minister Erasu Pratap Reddy is involved in the cash-for-bail scam, Danam Nagender forcibly locked a temple gate and one minister was even convicted by the court. Yet, the chief minister has failed to take action against them. Though Dharmana Prasada Rao was charged by the CBI in the Vanpic case, the chief minister did not to allow him to resign from the cabinet."
Demanding cancellation of the Vanpic land allotments and return of the lands to the farmers from whom the lands had been acquired for the project, he said, "The state government had violated all the laws by handing over 28,000 acres to the project promoter at a throwaway price. We will not leave the issue till the farmers get justice."
