PUDUCHERRY: AIADMK unit secretary A Anbazhagan charged that Chief Minster N Rangasamy was trying to save his cabinet colleague and Education Minister, P M L Kalayanasundaram, who had been accused of using a proxy to write SSLC exam recently.the AIADMK unit secretary was speaking to press reporters after submitting a memorandum to Lieutenant Governor Iqbal Singh, on Tuesday, seeking his intervention and dismissal of the minister. The AIADMK leader said that the high-level committee which probed the allegations against the minister found prima facie evidence and summon has been issued to him by the Tamil Nadu crime branch.He said Rangasamy should drop Kalyanasundaram from the post instead of keeping quiet and trying to save him instead.Anbazhgan warned that his party would mobilise students and agitate to seek the removal of the minister.In the memorandum, the party urged the immediate dismissal of Kalayanasundaram from the council of ministers.“Based on complaint, the government of Tamil Nadu conducted a probe into the matter which revealed that the minister had committed forgery and impersonation. The government of Tamil Nadu has registered a case under sections 465, 466, 468, 471, 473, 419, 420, 120 of Indian Penal Code (IPC) and FIR is also filed.” “The summary dismissal of PML Kalyanasundaram is immediate necessity in order to maintain dignity and decorum of the council of ministers and to restore the confidence of the student community of Puducherry,” the report said.AIADMK Party MLAs Om Sakthi Sekar, Purushothaman, Baskar and Indira Nagar by-poll candidate for the party Suttukeni Baskaran also accompanied Anbazhagan during the visit.
