Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Thursday urged the opposition to support his newly-formed government to develop the state.  Speaking on the vote of confidence, that he sailed through easily in the Assembly during the day, Soren wondered why the opposition accused some of his MLAs as "saleable" and "untouchable".

"Insulting them (the MLAs supporting his government) is tantamount to insulting the people whom they represent," he said referring to media reports quoting certain opposition leaders. Soren said he would respect the mandate given to his government and his party JMM would face the challenges.

"Jharkhand is entangled in a whirlpool, and it is a big challenge (to get out)," he said and urged the opposition to come forward with suggestions so that the government could include them in the developmental initiatives.

Stating that the reins of the state's development are in the hands of a youth, the 37-year-old Chief Minister said when he took oath he felt his father Shibu Soren's (the JMM chief) reflection in him. "I follow his ideals and principles."
