NEDUMBASSERY: The Cochin International Airport Ltd (CIAL) will offer consultancy services for the Kannur International Airport (KIA) project. A decision to this effect was taken by the board of directors of the KIA. With this the CIAL is entering consultancy services by diversifying its operations. The service constitutes many stages. It will review the current reports and revise them accordingly. The CIAL will obtain statutory clearances and approval from DGCA, ICAO, AAI and the Ministry of Defence. It will review the existing techno-economic feasibility report (TEFR) and include the revision of preliminary designs, specifications and cost estimate of the entire project. The CIAL will conduct traffic projections and consequently revise the master plan incorporating the new trends reflected in the projections, cargo movement assessment and tourism potential.It will also revise the technical data and preparation of land-use plan. Design of airport utility services, including power, lighting, water, fire, safety and security in conformity with ICAO and IATA standards will also come under the supervision of CIAL. Preparation of architectural design, models and drawings for all facilities and buildings for KIA will be covered under the consultancy service.
