Chennai Collector transferred

CHENNAI: S Madhumathi, who was appointed as Collector of Chennai district on January 13, was transferred on Friday with immediate effect. However, the State government has not named anyone as the new collector replacing her. V Shobana, who was the Collector of Chennai district, was transferred on May 31, 2011, and Chennai district remained without a collector until January 13.Meanwhile, the government also transferred G Lakshmi Priya, Commissioner, Salem Corporation.  She will be taking over as the Commissioner for Disciplinary Proceedings, Tirunelveli.
