New Delhi: After the Narendra Modi wave swept the political arena, it seems to be doing the same in the markets this Diwali. With markets being adorned with diyas, lights, paper candles, crackers, people are flocking the place looking for particular kinds of crackers and sparklers.
After Modi t-shirt, mugs, badges, this Diwali there are crackers named after Narendra Modi known as 'Modi bomb' and are in huge demand.
The political war between the Bharatiya Janata Party and Congress is not limited to Parliament only. It is out in markets now as there are sparklers named after Congress President Sonia Gandhi's daughter Priyanka known as 'Priyanka phooljhadi'.
Ravendra, one of the customers, said, "There are a new kind of crackers in the market which are named after Narendra Modi. The noise of these crackers can be heard from a long distance. I am buying it."
Firecracker shop owner Aslam, a said, "The people are asking for Modi crackers and Priyanka crackers, but the former is being sold the most."
Sports is not far off in this as crackers named after Asian Games boxing champion MC Mary Kom known as 'Mary Kom Anaar' are also being sold.
These crackers fall in the range of Rs 50 to Rs 1,500. Like politics, Modi has won this war too as crackers named after are in much more demand.
