THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: An all-party meeting was held in the chamber of the Neyyatinkara Thasildar to discuss the election code of conduct and election expenditure for the Neyyattinkara bypoll. The meeting was presided over by Thiruvananthapuram District Collector K N Satheesh. The bypoll election notification will be issued on May 9 and the nomination papers will be received till May 16. The nomination papers can be submitted from 11 a m to 3 p m. The scrutiny of the nomination papers will be held on May 17. The last date to withdraw nomination papers is May 19. A total of 143 booths will be set up and voters should produce the voter’s identity card for exercising their right to franchise. To carry out marches or processions, prior permission should be taken from the returning officer and for using microphones permission should be obtained from the police. The date and time of party meetings in the area should be informed in advance to the police. A candidate can only spend a maximum of `16 lakh for election purposes, including campaigns. Before giving advertisements in media, an application should be submitted to the scrutiny committee. Neyyatinkara tahsildar Lambodharan Pillai, Election deputy collector Pushpalatha, Neyyatinkara DySP Gopakumaran Nair and other officials participated in the meeting.
