The bodies of a 27-year-old farmer, his 25-year-old wife, and three children aged 9, 7 and 5, were found in their house in a village in Alirajpur district of Madhya Pradesh on Monday, police said.
The deceased, identified as Rakesh Dodwa, his wife, Lalita Dodwa and their sons, Prakash (7), and Akshay (5), were found hanging next to each other from the ceiling of their mud house with rope. The body of their daughter Laxmi (9) was found lying on the floor of their house in Ravdi village, police noted.
Prima facie, it appears to be a case of suicide, an official noted. However, no suicide note was found at the spot.
“The information about the death of five people at Ravdi village in Sondwa tehsil was received at 9.20 AM on Monday,” the police official said.
A team headed by the Sub Divisional Officer of Police (SDOP) of Alirajpur was constituted to probe the incident.
Reportedly, the incident occurred between 7 pm on Sunday and 6 am on Sunday.
According to police, Rakesh Dodwa was a farmer. He also used to work as a mason in Gujarat.
A dog squad and a forensic team reached the spot and collected fingerprints. A forensic team from Indore is also reaching the spot, police said, adding that the postmortem of bodies will be videographer.
Delhi’s Burari Case
At least 10 members of a family were found hanging from an iron mesh in the ceiling of their house in North Delhi’s Burari, while the body of Narayan Devi, 77, the head of the family, was lying on the floor in another room on the morning of July 1, 2018.
