Bangalore: The High Court on Friday ordered issuance of notice to complainant and JD (S) leader Y S V Datta and Lokayukta police in connection with the petition filed by former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa to quash the complaint against him filed by Datta. Datta had alleged that irregularities were committed in allotting tender in upper Bhadra project on September 5, 2011.
Hearing the petition, Justice Nagmohan Das also gave exemption to Yeddyurappa from appearing in Lokayukta Court next week and adjourned the petition. Datta alleged that the project was awarded to the highest bidder, a private firm RNS Jyothi at Rs 1,033 crore.
The HC directed Lokayukta police to file objections following a criminal petition filed by former IT /BT minister Katta Subramanya Naidu seeking to quash the complaint, FIR and charge-sheet against him on Karnataka Industrial Areas Development Board scam. Justice Nagmohan Das adjourned the petition to September 26.
