Bigg Boss 6: Why 'Teri Maa Ki Youth' is a hit
Hair stylist Sapna Bhavnani lent an awesome catch phrase to the opening episode of the popular reality TV show.

New Delhi: Hair stylist Sapna Bhavnani, who claims actors Katrina Kaif, Madendra Singh Dhoni, Bipasha Basu and John Abraham among her clientele, lent an awesome catch phrase to the opening episode of the hugely popular reality television show. She brought with her a black T-shirt that screamed 'Teri Maa Ki Youth' in bold white letters.

The words are not flattering. In fact the phrase is a play on a cuss word commonly used in the northern belt. But that did not stop it from being quoted by those on Facebook and Twitter. Soon it was trending on Twitter. It reeked of bad-assness and young users took to it like fish takes to water.

But it did offend some people who were promised a clean show this time by host Salman Khan.

Journalist Harneet Singh ‏(@Harneetsin) said: "Teri maa ki youth. Banner headline for the year. Period." But user Bombay Addict (‏@b50) disagreed and said "Teri Maa ki Youth, yup, family show Sallu Bhai and Colors. Audience c****** hai, kuch bhi maan jayegi."

A wacky hairstylist, two social activists, a divorced celebrity couple and 10 others formed the mix of the contestants this year. With such an eclectic line-up of contestants, the sixth season of reality show 'Bigg Boss' seems to be true to its tagline, 'Alag Che' (it's different).

The show's opening episode October 7 night turned out to be a gala affair with

lots of glitz and glamour. Salman opened the show by entertaining the viewers with dance performances on songs like 'Bodyguard' and 'Mashallah'. Bhavnani, known for her 'bindass' and tomboyish, tattooed avatar, left everyone in the house quite intrigued.

The 'Bigg Boss' house has been erected at Lonavala this year. The contestants will be locked inside the house for 98 days, away from the comforts of their everyday lives, and without any communication with the outside world. They will have 70 cameras, 15 more than the 55 cameras last season, prying on their activities 24x7. (With inputs from IANS)
