New Delhi: If you thought everything you post on your Facebook profile is your personal property, think again. The online social networking site now owns everything that users post on it. Deleting your profile now won't help either.
A look at its updated privacy policies, shows that Facebook has an "irrevocable, perpetual" license to use, edit, translate your "name, likeness, and image" in any way, including promotions or external advertising.
Facebook users are not amused.
Nearly 40,000 members have joined a user group protesting the change.
Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg, in damage control mode on an official blog said, Facebook wouldn't share the information "in a way".
Recently, Facebook has been under threat from identity thieves who are hacking accounts and blocking people out of their own accounts.
