BANGALORE: The Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) engaged its men in sprucing up the entire city in connection with the official inauguration of Namma Metro on October 20.BBMP Commissioner Siddaiah told Express that a large number of workers are involved in cleaning of all important roads in the city particularly from Bayyapanahalli up to Mahatma Gandhi Road for commuters.“The foot paths are being re-laid in some areas and curb stones are being painted all along to give a new look. It is the most prestigious event in the city and the BBMP wants to get involved in its own way”.He said that the Palike is spending from its own coffers on the beautification works. “Collectively we want to make this event a grand success and bring fame to city. The event is an important milestone in the history of the city,” he added.
