Desamangalam Ramakrishnan has been selected for this year’s Ayyappa Paniker award for his Malayalam translation of President, a Spanish novel authored by Miguel Angel Asturias Rosales, renowned Gautemalan writer and diplomat.
The award carries Rs 10,000 and a scroll of honour. He has been selected by a three-member panel headed by G Balamohan Thampi, former Vice-Chancellor, Kerala University. The award-winning title was a translation from the English version of the original work of Miguel Angel Asturias in Spanish.
