HYDERABAD: An ayurvedic doctor, who recently returned from Dubai committed suicide due to alleged dowry harassment by her inlaws at Malkajgiri. The parents of the victim also alleged she was also being subjected to harassment for being childless after nine years of marriage.
Dr C Suma (36) hails from Karnataka and was married to Chandrasekhar, a civil engineer nine years back. Suma completed her degree in ayurvedic science and did practice in city before the couple shifted to Dubai after Chandrasekhar secured a job there. After shifting to Dubai, Suma stopped practice as there were no opportunities in Dubai and later joined as an executive in a medical insurance company.Three months back, Suma quit her job and came back to her parents house at Karnataka. Suma came to her inlaws house at Malkajgiri on December 4 to attend a house warming ceremony of her husband's brother. "Suma attended the function on December 5 and was normal. In the wee hours of Thursday, she was found hanging in hall of the house,'' Malkajgiri police subinspector K Shiva Kumar said. Suma was shifted to a hospital where she was declared dead.
