Autonomy for Srisailam temple soon

KURNOOL: The Srisailam temple, one of the 12 Jyotirlingams in the country, is likely to be accorded autonomous status like Tirumala soon. Officials sources said the status will be conferred before March end. A development plan has been chalked out for which the state government will provide `25 crore and the temple administration another `25 crore. According to officials, more than 10 Shiva temples and Nava Nandis on the 180km stretch between Srisailam and Mahanandi will be brought under the Srisailam Temple Trust. The government also has plans to develop all mandals under the stretch.
