Allahabad: Foreigners coming for the Maha Kumbh is not new. Now the tourists from foreign countries are trying to make things easier for Indian devotees. A groups of Australian tourists, who are in Allahabad, are making boats specifically for pilgrims, which is replica of the one used in the film 'Life of Pi'.

The vessel will help devotees during the strike by Allahabad's boat owners. The Australian team consisting of eight people is building the boat to be used at the confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna and the mythical Saraswati. Inspired by Ramayana's Kevat, the Australian tourists decided to make the boat and earn the love and affection of the pilgrims.

The tourists are resident of different villages on the South Coast of Australia, which is about 400 kms from Sydney, and have spent more than Rs 4 lakh on the boat. They brought the several parts including the nuts and bolts for constructing the boat from Australia as they were not available in India.
