KOCHI: Amrita School of Engineering (ASE) has entered into a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Robert Bosch Engineering and Business Solution Ltd (RBEI) on Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham campus, Ettimadai.The MoU envisages various areas of cooperation, including a space in ASE library to set up Bosch Library Corner, faculty training, curriculum review and enhancements, elective subjects, technical presentation and discussions, projects for undergraduate and post-graduate students, sponsorship of technical events and symposia at ASE, sponsoring of research projects, customised MTech/MS programmes for RBEI associates, ASE support for RBEI training and Using ASE premises by RBEI.On the occasion M P Chandrashekharan, Dean, Amrita School of Engineering, said it would be a beginning of a long-term relationship with the Bosch in the field of engineering. He recollected similar space sharing methods adopted by prestigious institutions in India, which proved good for both the parties.C Parameswaran, Director, Corporate and International Relation (CIR), Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, said that the MoU was only a beginning. “We have expertise in many areas that can be offered to RBEI in consultancy and sponsored research. Besides, the technology wing of RBEI can interact with the Centres of Excellence of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham for programmes of mutual benefit,” he said.Krishna Shastri, joint director, CIR of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, N S Pandian, Dean, PG Programmes, and other chairpersons of departments, R Venugopal, vice-president, RBEI, Coimbatore, Ajay Kumar, senior manager, RBEI, were present on the occasion.
