HYDERABAD: CBI sleuths on Saturday searched the bank lockers of senior IAS officer Y Srilakshmi, whose role in the illegal mining case is being investigated.Agency CBI personnel descended on the Syndicate Bank’s branch in Ashok Nagar in the evening and opened bank lockers belonging to the officer. She was asked to go along.It is learnt that the CBI found some cash, gold and documents in the lockers, which are understood to have been seized.Earlier in the day, Srilakshmi visited the CBI office at Koti and left after two hours, citing health problems. She was, however, required to go back to the CBI office in the evening for the locker search.This time around, she was present in the office till late in the night and was grilled about the mining leases given to Gali Janardhan Reddy’s Obulapuram Mining Company (OMC).Sources said CBI joint director V V Lakshminarayana, who returned from Delhi yesterday after briefing CBI director AP Singh, is reported to have received the goahead for the arrest.Sources said she was questioned in the presence of V D Rajagopal, former vice-chairman and MD of the AP Mineral Development Authority and that certain contradictory versions emerged.
