PUDUCHERRY: Activists of Federation for People’s Rights (FPR)are likely to picket Union Minister V Narayanasamy’s house on Tuesday to protest his speech about leaders fighting against the Koodankulam Nuclear Power Plant and deliberately diverting the issue.According to a press release, the activists would gather at Subbiah Statue in Nellithoppu junction and march towards the Union Minister’s house. However, senior SP (Law and Order) V J Chandran said the organisors had sought permission for holding a procession, but if they picket Narayanasamy’s house, they would be arrested.Meanwhile, SP (North) N T Sivadasan has promulgated a regulatory order in Puducherry North region under section 30 (20) of the police Act starting from Monday to December 12. The regulatory order has been issued in view of the likelihood of breach of peace in the entire stretch of north region.Oppn Leader, PCC Chief to Meet SoniaLeader of opposition V Vaithilingam and president of Puducherry Pradesh Congress Committee AV Subramanian have gone to New Delhi to meet AICC president Sonia Gandhi.The two leaders said they would pay a courtesy call on Sonia Gandhi. They would also brief Ghulam Nabi Azad, AICC general secretary in charge of Puducherry, on the political situation and the performance of the party in the by-elections.The visit could be politically significant, if the AICC decides for a change of PCC president if the performance of the party is doubted for the Congress debacle in the Assembly elections.
