WARANGAL: The National Institute of Technology (NIT) is in the news again for wrong reasons. A third year B Tech student from Kerala, Arjun Venugopal, was critically injured after he fell from the third floor of the hostel building Friday night.According to sources, Arjun suffered multiple fractures on both his hands and legs and his vertebral column too was injured. He was shifted to a hospital in Hyderabad when doctors at the local hospital said he needed to be treated by experts. It is not immediately clear if Arjun fell from the third floor of the building or whether he was pushed. Student Affairs Dean Prof Krishnamacharya said: “Arjun fell while mock-fighting with his friends. There was no clash or quarrel. It was just a prank that went sour,” he said. But what has raised eyebrows is that the college management has not lodged any complaint with the police about the incident. “We have received no complaint. We are, nevertheless, trying to figure out what exactly has happened,” Kazipet inspector Vijaya Saradhi said.
