Thane: In his bid to expand the ambit of the anti-corruption agitation, social activist Anna Hazare will be addressing two meetings exhorting youths in the district over the next two days.
Aslam Shaikh of Dr PV Madlik Trust who has organised the meetings to be held at Ambernath and Thane city said, Hazare now wants to expand the ambit of the agitation spearheaded by him by ensuring participation from the youth who had extended their support in his battle to weed out corruption.
Informing further, Shaikh, who is also district president of 'Bhrashtachar Virodhi Jana Andolan', said a massive drive was launched in all the village panchayats between September 23 and 28 for creating awareness among the masses and a total of 55 meetings were planned.
The drive will culminate in a public meeting at Gadkari Rangayatan (auditorium) on September 28 which will be addressed by Hazare, while the meeting in Ambernath will be held on Tuesday evening.
Prominent among those who will also address the meeting on Wednesday include Maharashtra Rural Development Minister Jayant Patil and social activist Megha Patkar among others.
