Ananthapuri Festival from October 21

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Ananthapuri Dance festival and 99th Sree Chithira Thirunal Jayanthi fete being organised under the auspices of the Sree Chithira Thirunal Smaraka Sangeetha Natya Kala Kendram will be held at five venues in the city from October 21 to 30.Addressing mediapersons here on Thursday, Kala Kendram office-bearers said that more centres of the Kendram will be set up in various parts of the city.Panchayat Minister M K Muneer will inaugurate the dance festival on October 21 at 5 pm. Reception Committee chairman S Pulikesi IPS will preside over the function.Travancore royal family head Uthradom Thirunal Marthanda Varma will inaugurate the jayanthi fete at 5.30 pm on October 25. Floral tributes will be laid at Panchavadi, the final resting place of Sree Chithira Thirunal, on the Kowdiar palace premises on October 26.A colourful procession will be taken out on October 24 from the Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple premises to VJT hall at 5 pm.
