Mumbai: Sourav Ganguly not only made a comeback to Team India but was also retained in Grade A, which had a new entrant in Irfan Pathan.
Gautam Gambhir and M S Dhoni were also offered a contract on Saturday and have been placed in Grade C.
After the signing of contracts by Indian coach Greg Chappell and the support staff on Friday, the Indian cricket board offered contracts to 15 players this year, down by two from the 17 players who had been offered last year.
Announcing the terms of the players' contracts, Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Secretary Niranjan Shah said eight players have been offered contracts in Grade A.
They are Rahul Dravid, Virender Sehwag, Sachin Tendulkar, Anil Kumble, Harbhajan Singh, V V S Laxman, Irfan Pathan and Sourav Ganguly.
These players will receive an annual retainership of Rs 50 lakh.
In Grade 'B', there are four players - Yuvraj Singh, Mohammed Kaif, Ajit Agarkar and Mahendra Singh Dhoni and they will get an annual retainership of Rs 35 lakh.
The Grade 'C' players include Murali Kartik, Gautam Gambhir and Zaheer Khan and they have been offered contracts with a retainership of Rs 20 lakh.
The prominent players who had a contract last season and do not feature this year are - Parthiv Patel and Ashish Nehra, while Zaheer Khan has been demoted from Garde 'B' to Grade 'C'.
Among the new players given contracts are Gautam Gambhir and Mahendra Singh Dhoni.
