KAKKALUR (TIRUVALLUR): People who received milch cows, goats, free laptops, mixie, grinder and fans free of cost at the government function at Kakkalur in Tiruvallur district on Thursday profusely thanked Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa.Under the milch cows distribution scheme, Jersey breed of cows are being given. While Rs. 30,000 is being given as the cost of the cows, an additional Rs. 2,000 transportation charge, Rs. 1,000 travel assistance and Rs. 900 insurance cost are also given. In total, each beneficiary received benefits worth Rs. 33,900.Renganayaki, a widow from Kolappancherry said the cow would help get earn sufficient money for her routine expenses. At present, cooperative societies procure milk at Rs. 18 per litre and this would definitely help her a lot. Mudiyala, a destitute woman, said already she was engaged in grazing goats in her native place and she used to get a baby goat as wage for her job. Now that the CM has given her own goats, she would earn more money to help the family.Durai Ammal, a widow, said she has been working as a farm labourer for daily wages and the goats given by the CM would be very helpful for the family. Lakshmi, another widow from Kolappancherry, said, “I was struggling hard to earn my livelihood. The milch cow would be a boon for me’.Mayuri Maithili, a student from Koppur, said she was so happy to receive the laptop. She said “the Chief Minister has fulfilled a responsibility of my parents by supplying laptops”. Other students who have received incentives and laptops personally from the CM at the function also thanked her for the gesture.Housewives who have received fans, mixies and grinders thanked the CM, saying their load will ease.
