Agriculture helpline landed staff in soup

BNAGALORE: By asking the farming community to lodge complaints on discrepancies in prices of fertilisers and seeds with his office, Agriculture Minister Umesh Katti seems to have landed his staff in hot soup.
Katti, in a recent media briefing, had appealed to farmers to contact him in his personal cellphone number (9483818181) to lodge any grievances a gesture that was met with an overwhelming response.As a result, ministerial staff in the agriculture department had to receive a minimum of 100 calls on a daily basis round the clock.
