BANGALORE: In a case of police custodial death, a 30-year-old man who was in the custody of Kerala’s Anti- Piracy Cell (APC) police committed suicide by hanging himself in a toilet in the Border Security Force (BSF) quarters in Yelahanka police station limits on Sunday.The deceased, Ashok, was a resident of Banashankari.According to the police, the Kerala APC police had arrested him recently in connection with a piracy case and had brought him to the city to recover some property.They had come to the city two days ago and since the recovery was not yet complete, they had stayed at BSF quarters on Saturday.The police team was led by a Deputy SP.When the policemen were fast asleep in the night, Ashok allegedly went inside the toilet and hanged himself.The incident came to light when the team woke up in the morning.Later, they brought the matter to the notice of the local police.Yelahanka police have registered a case of unnatural death in this connection.
