The party disclosed his name on Thursday in their 14th list of candidates. Sonia Gandhi, the three-time MP from the constituency, filed her nomination papers on Wednesday.
Sonia has represented Rae Bareli since 2004, but the Nehru-Gandhi family's association with the constituency dates back independence. In 2009, Sonia won Rae Bareli with a margin of 73% over her closest opponent. So, defeating Gandhi can prove out to be a challenging task for AAP candidate Fakhruddin.
