The scholarship award function was held at the Vadapalani campus of the university on August 6 at 12.30pm.The awardees were selected in the selection trials conducted on April 17 and 18, in which more than 500 sports persons competed for selection. The trials were conducted in cricket, basketball, volley ball, badminton, ball badminton, tennis, table tennis,  chess and athletics by experts from inside and outside the university.The university is proud to have selected many national and international players such as Sunny Kumar Singh (Ranji trophy cricketer), Prasanna Raghuram (international chess player), A Rithvik (International tennis player), P Prabhakaran (junior national volley ball player) and A Suganya (senior national ball badminton player).The university provides a total sports scholarship of nearly four crores a year to the students admitted in its various programmes.first published:January 01, 1970, 05:30 ISTlast updated:January 01, 1970, 05:30 IST
