The recent rains led to several water-borne diseases in the interior villages of Kurnool district.
Around 80 people of Kammarchedu, Kuravalli, Arikeri, Urukunda and Molagavalli Kottala villages in Aluru mandal were admitted to Alur government hospital on Sunday after they complained of diarrhoea. Doctors Visweswaraiah and Manjula, who are attending the patients, said the patients have been complaining of fever, nausea, cold shivers, cough, muscle and joint pains and motions. The relatives of the patients said rains had polluted water in their villages are the culprits.
The doctors said that medical camps will also be held in the villages soon.
