HYDERABAD: Three officials of the Regional Transport Authority (RTA), Kurnool, were nabbed by the city police on Monday for facilitating three others in preparing forged documents to sell used cars fraudulently. Two more RTA officials were also involved in the fraud and they are yet to be arrested.The three officials were facilitating one B Suresh Babu, a businessman from Kurnool, in preparing the forged documents.According to police, Suresh and Mohd Nayeem, used car dealers and hatched a plan to remove the hypothecation agreement on RCs and sell the vehicles. With the help of an RTA agent, B Murali, the duo roped in five other RTA officials from Kurnool to help them in preparing the forged documents. Murali was also arrested.The officials include junior assistant Shaik Abdul Saheb, typist G Muniratnam and senior assistant Y Venkata Ramana Murthy and two other administrative officers, Abdul Rawoof and S Lakshminarayana.Suresh contacted Syed Munna of Kurnool, who owns an Indica Vista car with hypothecation RC and got his documents. With the help of RTA officials, Suresh got the hypothecation removed and sold the car for `3.95 lakh. Suresh, Nayeem, Murali and three RTA officials were nabbed by the police.
