KURNOOL: Two youths were caught red-handed while trying to steal the jewellery of the processional idol of Bhramarambika, in the Kalyanamandapam at the famous Srisailam temple on Friday night. The duo, Babu and Balu, both residents of Kothapet here, entered the Kalyanamandapam and switched off the lights. They then damaged the CCTV cameras and collected `4,735 from the hundi by breaking the lock.  Later, they tried to take away the jewellery on the processional of Bhramarambika when the Devasthanam officials became alert. They informed the police who rushed to the place and nabbed the youths.Cases were registered against them, circle inspector Venugopal Reddy said. Temple executive officer Hanumantha Rao denied that the temple security and other staff failed in their duty. They were inquiring into the incident and would take all possible measures to prevent its recurrence. A solar fencing would be erected around the temple soon, he added.
