The deceased, identified as Vishnu, had complained of body pain and fever last week. His parents had admitted him to a local hospital in Krishnarajapuram.However, he was sifted to Chinmaya Mission Hospital when his condition turned serious last evening. The doctors attending the patient said the case was very sensitive.“We checked the blood platelet count. It was 35,000 against 4.5 lakh. His BP dropped, we pumped it and it stabilised later. But on Saturday, he succumbed to brain haemorrhage due to high fever,” Dr Leela V of the hospital said.Meanwhile, many as 134 dengue cases have been reported in the city from January till now. BBMP’s Chief Health Officer (CHO) Manjula confirmed the rise in the cases of dengue.“We have informed all the District Health Officers to keep a tab on this issue and have deputed three sprayers each in each ward here. But the public also have to take initiative. They should clear garbage and make sure that water containers are closed.”Meanwhile, Health Minister Aravinda Limbavali reviewed the situation.He said, “As many as 260 dengue cases have been reported in the State this year. Out of that, 134 cases have been confirmed. Dengue has claimed nine lives in the state from January till now this year.
