How to Tie Hira Obi for Yukata
Yukata is a traditional Japanese summer clothing. It is considered a summer Kimono or casual kimono. Obi is a sash for Yukata. This is the most basic way to tie an Obi.
Steps

Make a vertical fold.

Take about 16" or an arm's length from one Obi end and fold it in half (vertically). Hold this end on your left. Hold the other side on your right.

Wrap the Obi around your waist.

Place the Obi over your shoulder. Then, while holding left end, wrap the Obi around the waist 2 times.

Make a triangle shape with the end of the Obi.

Fold the right end to make a triangle shape. It should be narrower towards left.

Tie the two sides together.

Make sure to tie so that the Left side is on top.

Tie the Obi in the back.

Bring Left to the upper center and bring vertical line.

Open up the right side of the Obi.

Unfold the Right side of the Obi so that its full width is exposed.

Fold the right side from the center to the right

Then, fold to the front.

Decide the Bow (Ribbon) length.

Fold in the rest.

Bring the Left down over the folded Right.

Slide the Left underneath the Right in the center.

Insert the rolled up Left behind the Obi.

Fix the Ribbon shape.

Move the bow towards the back

This should be done in a clockwise direction while exhaling.

Finished.

Enjoy!
