Finding Your Own Username
Open Telegram on your iPhone or iPad. It’s a blue icon containing a white paper airplane. You’ll typically find it on the home screen.
Tap Settings. It’s under the gear icon at the bottom-right corner of the screen.
Find your username/chat ID next to “Username.” It’s right below your phone number and begins with an “@” symbol. Your friends can use this username to search for you in Telegram or tag you in messages. If no username appears in this blank, tap the arrow next to “Username,” enter your desired username, then tap Done.
Finding a Contact’s Username
Open Telegram on your iPhone or iPad. It’s a blue icon containing a white paper airplane. You’ll typically find it on the home screen.
Tap Contacts. It’s at the bottom-left corner of the screen.
Tap the contact whose username you want to find. If you have a lot of contacts, you can find the person quickly by typing their name into the search bar.
Tap the contact’s name. It’s at the top of the chat.
Tap Info. It’s the “i” inside a circle at the top-right corner of the screen.
Find the person’s username/chat ID under the “username” header. It begins with an “@” symbol. You can use this ID to search for this user or tag them in messages. Not all Telegram users have set up usernames.
