Bathing Your Dolls Hair and Body
Go to your bathroom or kitchen sink. This is where you will give your Barbie a bath.
Get a small paper cup and cotton swab.
Put a small amount of shampoo in the paper cup and fill it with water. If you want, you can fill it with hand soap and water but shampoo smells better and will give your Barbie a more realistic bath.
Dip a cotton ball in the shampoo and rub it all over your dolls hair. Make sure you cover all of her hair.
Rub the shampoo into the dolls hair until you see suds, just like you do for yourself.
Rinse your dolls hair under the tap until all the shampoo is gone.
Rinse your paper cup.
Put a small amount of body soap in the paper cup and fill it with water. If you want you can fill it with hand soap and water.
Dip a cotton ball in the body soap and rub it on your doll's body, making sure you get all the dirt off and clean her very well.
Rinse her thoroughly.
Dry her hair and body.
Brush her hair softly, getting all the knots out, so it's nice and smooth. Make sure you brush it gently to avoid pulling out a lot of hair. Don't be afraid if some hair falls out.
Hair Makeover
Wait until your dolls hair is dry.
Colour her hair in with a washable marker. This will only last for a day or two. You can rinse it off later with soap and hot water. To colour it permanently, use a permanent marker. Make sure you want to do it though because it won't come off once you've done it.
If you want to cut her hair, make sure you want to do it because she won't grow it back! Decide on the hairstyle for your doll and carefully use craft scissors to cut it.
Style her hair with hair spray. Don't use a curling iron or straightener on her hair because it will burn her hair.
Make her hair sparkle. To add some glitter to her hair, mix some glitter with hair gel in your paper cup and use a cotton ball to put it on her hair. It will make her hair pretty and glittery and you can wash it off later with soap and water.
Change her hairstyle. Try doing buns, ponytails (or you could even try doing an inverted ponytail, though you have to be careful as her hair will tangle easily), pigtails, braids or any other style you like. To be creative, make your own hairstyle!
Face and Body Makeover
Change her lip colour and makeup. Use washable or permanent markers. Washable markers will come off with soap and water but permanent markers won't come off!
Use a washable marker to give her a removable tattoo. It will wash off with soap and water. If you want to give your doll a permanent tattoo, use a permanent marker but make sure you want to do this because it won't come off! Always test the permanent marker first. Some permanent markers are too thick for tattoos or are a bit dry.
Give your doll a new fashion style. Make some new clothes for her using fabric and old or small clothes.
You're done! Now all you have to do is enjoy playing with your pretty and clean doll!
Finished.
