How to Create a Pinterest Pin on PC or Mac

Creating a New Pin

Open Pinterest in your internet browser. Type www.pinterest.com into the address bar, and hit ↵ Enter or ⏎ Return on your keyboard. If you're not automatically logged in, sign in with your email and password or one of your social media accounts.

Click your username. Your name and picture are in the upper-right corner of your screen. Click it to open your profile page.

Click the Pins tab. It's located next to Boards below your name on the profile page.

Click the Create Pin button. This button looks like a white "+" in a red circle icon in the upper-left corner of your Pins list.

Click the Android 7 Camera icon. This will allow you to upload a picture from your computer. Alternatively, you can click Save from site in the lower-left corner of this window, and paste a URL link to upload a picture from a website.

Select the picture you want to upload. Find the picture you want to save as a Pin in the file explorer window, and click it.

Click the Open button. This will upload the selected picture.

Click the red Done button. This will prompt you to select a board for your new Pin. Optionally, you can also add a URL link or a text description to your Pin here.

Select a board for your new Pin. Under the Choose Boards heading, click the board you want to save your Pin. Your image will be pinned to this board as a new Pin. Alternatively, you can click Create board at the bottom of the list, and create a new board for your new Pin.

Saving From the Home Page

Open Pinterest in your internet browser. Type www.pinterest.com into the address bar, and hit ↵ Enter or ⏎ Return on your keyboard. If you're not automatically logged in, sign in with your email and password or one of your social media accounts.

Hover over a Pin on your Home page. A red Save button will show up on the Pin.

Click the red Save button. This will allow you to save this Pin to one of your own boards.

Select a board for your Pin. The Save button will prompt you to select a board for your new Pin. Click a board here, and the selected Pin will be automatically saved to this board. Alternatively, you can click Create board at the bottom of the list, and create a new board for your Pin.
