New Delhi: Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson insists that neither he nor his superstar players have found an atmosphere quite like Celtic Park.

In-form Manchester United travel to Sir Alex's home city of Glasgow this week hoping to do the Champions League Group E double over Celtic.

The Hoops may be injury stricken and still shaken after a meek display in the 3-0 defeat at Old Trafford a fortnight ago, but Ferguson is still wary of the stirring Parkhead factor.

Some of the giants of Europe have fallen on their travels to the Bhoys' fortress in recent seasons, with their home form propelling them to back-to-back last-16 appearances in the elite competition.

Former Rangers striker Ferguson himself tasted defeat at Celtic Park in 2006 and admits that United's dressing room chatter of late has centred around the impending Scottish showdown.

He told The Mail, "Parkhead is the best I've experienced, certainly.

"The players were just talking about that the other day. [Nemanja] Vidic and [Cristiano] Ronaldo were saying it's the best atmosphere they had ever played in. Credit to the supporters for that because they don't half raise the roof."

United and Villarreal are almost guaranteed a place in the knock-out stages, but Ferguson isn't taking anything for granted and clearly wants his players to handle Wednesday's grudge match acid test.

He continued, "Only Barcelona have won at Parkhead so that tells you everything.

"It won't be easy, as it's obvious the Celtic players react to it. We're going to have to run that extra yard or we'll soon be found out by them."

Celtic's confidence has been boosted by good wins over Kilmarnock and Hearts and will look to both salvage pride and take a step towards beating Aalborg to third place in midweek.
